MARTY VOTEL – LANDFILL LEACHATE MOU with Camden – Goose Creek JRS

File 2 opens with Preble County Prosecutor Marty Votel asking for an executive session on the topic of the leachate MOU with the Village of Camden.  To review the MOU signed by the previous Preble County Commission to send Preble County Landfill Leachate to Camden: Preble County Commission & Camden MOU.  To review the court case: Village of Camden vs. Board of Preble County Commissioners.  That case was dismissed in Federal Court but my memory is that Camden had a limited time frame to re-file in state court. The decision to build the leachate line to Lakengren negatively impacted the future economic development prospects of Preble County for years to come.  The area from the landfill to Camden has railroad and highway frontage while the Lakengren route has neither.
