Goose Creek – Date of Death May 14, 2012 – Local Resident Opposition Mentioned

Let the obituary read that Goose Creek died May 14, 2012. Listen to File 10 & 11 for the official discussion.  The commission voted 2 – 0 to pull the zoning overlay application from the Rural Zoning Board. The video of the zoning board’s last meeting was posted last week.  Chris Day mentioned residents in the area calling and emailing him that they were against it. I am glad they did but it complete BS that this was not known before. A couple years ago the Preble Chamber had 40 or 50 county people offer their views on economic development.  I took that survey; I told the interviewer that the people in that area were against it, I remember him looking at me like I was from Mars. I relayed that story to Jane Marshall at the time.

There was more, please review the audio as it is 4 hour meeting and I don’t feel like typing anymore today.

Connie – We received a letter from the Preble County Chamber of Commerce. Invite to a meeting share your views on Goose Creek Crossing. lol  Public forum. June 11, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Taffy's of Eaton. They have invited the Board of County Commissioners, Economic Development Director Shawnda Combs, Matt Appenzeller, a representative from the Partnership and Kleingers & Associates.

Rules outlined in letter.

Letter signed by Matt Appenzeller and Manfred Schreyer.

Chris Day – Well it would have been nice if the Chamber had questions they would have contacted us prior to initiating a public forum. I guess at this point with the news that we did not receive the JRS grant and we have just discussed.. the commission taking a different role or look at this. I don't know that there is a whole lot to speak on other than what was in the press release.

Connie mentions last paragraph and "We will fight on." It didn't say we would fight on for Goose Creek. That is not the way people read it.

Dave Wesler – comments. Does not even want to call it Goose Creek anymore. No need for this really.

Chris – Pointless – not a lot of support locally or at the state level.

3 hr. 27.5 Minute mark   Chris – I will contact Mr. Appenzeller and let him know our thoughts.

3 hr. 28 Minute mark  Connie –  Matt's letter asked about the county providing Work Keys to their employees. Existing employees. ???

Dave – I will talk to Jean, I really do not think it is going to be beneficial. Mention of CVB. Mention of Lavon.

CVB's.

Working together. This was the intent all along but with local control, not county. This was mentioned to the commission multiple times. In Butler County – Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown all have their own CVB's and work together on the County CVB.
