Go Pro Introduces a New Smaller Camera That Can be Used By Just About Anyone, Anywhere – Except County Commissioners

Earlier today I posted the “Chicken” discussion from the June 18, 2015 Sr. Fair board meeting, later I read a review of the new GoPro camera and it got me thinking….

Amazing video of places and things the camera can and has been used for. Of special note though is the continued inability of the Preble County Commission to make video of their meetings available to the public. After watching this promo video the explanation that it is just too expensive or hard for the county commission does not seem to be a good reason. It takes two votes and Commissioner Denise Robertson is the only county commissioner who supports it at this time. Some commissioners would rather tell you what went on in a meeting than provide you the public with the means to watch a meeting and make up your own mind.

This is the age of the Internet and information available on demand. Do you really want that type of a commissioner?

The Session can shoot 1440p at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 fps, or 720p at 100 fps. It can also shoot 8-megapixel photographs in burst mode at 10 fps, as well as .5-second to 60-second time-lapse photos, and includes a number of settings for slow-motion recording and high-resolution images.

Priced at $399 and available throughout most of the world on July 12, the Hero4 Session is half the size and 40% lighter than the existing Hero4 line of cameras. It was designed to be much more simple than other GoPros, with a single button that starts and stops recording. It’s also meant to mount on objects, like bicycle spokes, that are too small to hold current Hero4s. It works with all existing GoPro mounts.
