The Budget letter is in.

November 26 to be recap of Budget Hearings.

9.5  Minute mark   Discussion on elected officials pay increases mandated by state.

12  Minute mark    Commissioner Robertson – There is something unseemly about people voting themselves a pay raise.

14.5  Minute mark   Commissioner Robertson would like to see the letter reflect no pay increase for next year since the commission just voted 4% pay increases. Still waiting on salary study.

Commissioner Wesler feels they already know the county is a little low in a lot of them. He is ok with a pay increase (he also won't be in office next year).

Commissioner Day says something but with his audio level he cannot be heard.

16  Minute mark   He must have suggested 2% because Commissioner Robertson does not feel the people paying the bills (taxpayers) have received a 4% and then a 2% raise in the last two years.

Discussion on the problem of filling a job position at JFS and the need to attract good people. Commissioner Robertson feels that then that is one job position they can examine without across the board increases.

21.25  Minute mark    Commissioner Day – So what you are saying is the rest of the positions are not important?

Commissioner Robertson – No that is not what I am saying. I am also saying that not everyone is not equal in their job performance and I actually like that is a raise is given then give it to the Department Head and let them decide what people should get. Because they know better than we do… some people out perform every day of the week…Listen to the audio – good argument.

Commissioner Robertson on that being in addition to a $90,000 impact to the budget that was recently implemented retro actively to January 1, 2014.

Commissioner Day reports that 3% would be about a $67,000 impact.
