Preble County is not served well by having two commissioners from the West Alexandria area.

This is the official Preble County Commission meeting audio for the January 9, 2017 meeting.  This meeting has the reorganization of commission officers. Normally the President’s seat is rotated among the three commissioners. That was not the case this year and how and why that happened has been the topic of discussion around the county.

I believe this meeting is a prime example of why the whole of Preble County is not served well by having two commissioners from the West Alexandria area. Commissioner Robertson was recently re-elected in the fall.  In the spring she defeated a former county elected official who had to that point never lost a race and she won by over 9% points. She has received far more votes than Junior Commissioner Creech and has a better claim to being the people’s choice.  Commissioner Denise Robertson had the commission back down Junior Commissioner Creech who favored a 1.5 mill tax hike for 911. Had Robertson not opposed putting the Creech favored tax hike on the ballot every property owner may already be paying higher taxes thanks to Junior Commissioner Creech.
