SHERIFF SIMPSON & JOHN KROCK – SHERIFF’S UNION CONTRACT

EXECUTIVE SESSION

33.75 Minute mark    Sheriff Simpson presents Dispatch update. Listen to the audio.

12 year period mentioned as extending to 2026.  $1,200,487? in estimated average annual cost.

If a levy is needed 1.55 mills is what Mindy says will handle that expense. 11 full time dispatchers plus a Supervisor to run one center for the county.

Start up costs – $530,000 (current estimate).

36 Minute mark    No final decision on where to locate the dispatch center has been but Sheriff feels that is Sheriff's Department is the only location that is viable.   

37 Minute mark    Commissioner Robertson would like to see a decision on where to locate the facility be made by the committee.

Sheriff would like approval of $1,600 to spend on drawings on what would be needed to move forward at the Sheriff's department as no other location has been discussed.

38 Minute mark   Cost of moving equipment, security and another building to maintain are mentioned as positives for using and expanding current Sheriff's Department location.

Sheriff – I encourage you guys to get the drawings and see what the cost is if we are going to do this. I think you need to have that…

39.5 Minute mark    Mention of LGF loans to upgrade City cars as well as County plus unknowns.

Discussion about Fire Department users.

42.5 Minute mark    Will maintain the VHF system as a back-up because of need to have one.

43.5 Minute mark    Commissioner Robertson – On thing we did discuss at the meetings was getting information out to the villages and townships….

JIM FERRIELL, WASHINGTON TWP. TRUSTEE – COUNTY-OWNED PROPERTY/EATON-LEWISBURG RD

Formal complaint made at July meeting by a Mr. Phil Price at 1190 Bantas Creek Rd.  County has a property that adjoins his that has a problem with weeds in the fence row.  Listen to the audio.

County Commissioners were told the problem was taken care of.

Connie – reads letter claiming issue had already been taken care of.
