The Preble County Visual Arts Center is now accepting registrations for our new and improved Summer Art Camps. Find registration forms and class information at our website  www.takepartinart.net, or give us a call at 937-456-3999. We love to hear from you!

Our annual Summer Art Camps each run for a week, and this year each week is an all new experience. What does that mean for you and your child? It means that for the first time ever you can sign your child up for multiple camps to take advantage of tons of summer fun!

If you can’t make one week, don’t worry! We have multiple options for you, including half-day and full-day packages. Pre-K art camp is new this year and is the first week of June. The last 3 weeks of June each offer experiences for K-6 graders.Choose camps based on pottery, painting, photography, stop motion animation and more. All camps are designed to teach the foundations of art and to build artistic skills.

Registration fees include all the materials your child will need. All half-day camps are $75 for PCAA members and $95 for non-members, while all full-day camps are $150 for PCAA members and $190 for non-members.

Spring marks the return of the Annual Juried Art Show at the Visual Arts Center in Eaton, featuring all the best professional and amateur artists Preble County has to offer.  This year the exhibit will be on display from May 15th to June 27th, with a public reception on Thursday, May 15th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

The juror for the Show is Greg Clem, an Assistant Professor of Art at Edison Community College in Piqua.  Greg received his MFA from University of Cincinnati in 2008, with an emphasis in sculpture.  His artwork incorporates a variety of materials and processes, including sculpture, photography, painting and printmaking, as well as video and sound.

Interested artists may enter up to five 2D and 3D works in multiple mediums, except photography.  Entries fees for PCAA members are $10 each or 5 for $40.  Fees for non-members are $12 each or 5 for $50.  Entry forms and artwork must be dropped off at the Art Center on May 8th and 9th, from 1-7pm.  Artists may enter as either professionals or amateurs and awards will be given in both categories, including $150 Best of Show for professionals and $100 Promising Artist for amateurs.  Additional monetary merit awards will be given at the discretion of the juror.
