This meeting represents the completion of the sixth year of the commission audio project. It started back on April 11, 2007 at the website preblevoice.com.  Special thanks are due to Polly Kronenberger for the web site space – Thanks Polly.  Back then it was two or three minute long files at cd quality with no review, it took up a lot of space on a server and she moved it to Prebleminutes.com.  The space issue recurred with notification that the site had to be taken down or would be taken down.   A forum member going by the online name “ninja” offered a way to create much smaller audio files at a time the project would have died without him – Thanks ninja.  Eventually it moved to citizensforpreblecounty.com (still there) and this past year preble411 because the name is easier to remember.

Last spring was the start of meeting videos on a YouTube channel. That effort is limited to my available time.  It would certainly be nice if the Preble County Commission went to video of their meetings like New Paris does.  One of the most useful additions was the creation of the Agenda Data Base a few years ago.  It contains agendas from October 10, 2005 up through the current April 15, 2013 agenda, it is now 1106 pages and it is searchable.  You can type in a name or issue that you are interested in and locate it much faster than looking at a screen full of blue links wondering where to start.  From there I recommend cross checking the dates with the archives on the front page that go back to January 2009. At that point you will probably have a number for an audio file that contains what you want.  I used to keep the audio files up for six months but cut that back to three months last year due to a spike in use early in the year.  If there is an audio file you would like to be put back online please let me know.  

I would like to draw attention to comments made by the economic development director in File 3A .  There were multiple comments made during the full meeting about only “constructive” input and comments wanted by the Preble County Development Partnership.  I would also like to remind the Preble County Commission that the previous commission terminated employees for making dishonest on the record statements last year during an investigation of the “pop fund” issue.  If you listen to the audio file or watch the video you will hear me say “Whoa”. I did that because unknown to the Preble County Economic Development Director was that I knew the truth and it was not what she was claiming.  She could have taken the time to hear me out; she ignored me and plowed on with comments that are just not true. My hope is that those that rightfully deserve the credit come forward.
