SHAWNDA COMBS – tourism discussion

39.5 Minute mark   Commissioner Stonecash – Do I understand that eventually that you attended this tourism class or conference or whatever?

Shawnda – It wasn't a conference it was just a state it was from the Department of Tourism Ohio. From Department of Development where they educate economic development directors on the benefits, the economic benefits of having tourism in your community. And I had before I went invited Jane and the County CVB but they could not go because the Historical Society had or something. Neither one of them could go.

Commissioner Stonecash – That was my question. Where is the break there between what they do and what you do. I guess you need to be deep in cooperation, between the two.

Shawnda – Like I said, I have been carrying on the Partnership's initiative with tourism until the County CVB is up and running. This organization is something that all of the CVB's should be involved in…. I do broadcast email that stuff to everyone. The things that they offer and the things that they are about. Hopefully all of the county CVB's will take advantage of their programming. I did ask while I was there why the other CVB's in the county were not there…    I informed the County CVB and that they were welcome to attend… Gave a copy of the presentation to the County CVB and the Register Herald.

Bob asks if the Partnership would fund the CVB or if there was a possibility.

If this subject is of interest to you then please listen to the audio.  No mention of contact with other CVB's by Shawnda.
