Preble County LEPC committee

Of interest here is a vote on new members to the Preble County LEPC committee (out of date web page).  See File 3. Chris Day and David Wesler were against putting Jane Marshall on the committee as Charlie Biggs had recommended. Denise Robertson stated: “I think that if you get people to volunteer for things that are willing to work and she is a worker and it is Charlie's group so – I am ok with Jane being on it.”

It was a 2 – 1 vote.

This one should be listened to.

Connie – We did get a response from Charlie Biggs on appointment of the LEPC members. This was last year's and I think everyone here is being reappointed accept ahh the County Engineer's information is not in this .. information that was sent to me by Charlie. That was appointed last year and we have three additional people here that it looks like that he would like to have appointed. One is Cheryl White sp? who would represent Neaton Auto Products, Jane Marshall citizen at large and Naomi Hawkins sp? it looks like she has certification but she is marked "other" under representation.

Chris Day – You say there has been a change to that current roster?

Connie – A couple names have changed because of like Melissa Wallace will not be on there it will be her replacement. Those type of changes. Matt Venable is taking Ron Hayes place….

Back and forth discussion on make-up and size of the committee.

11.5  Minute mark  David Wesler comments that there are a lot on the committee already. Mentions support for two of the three by name – Cheryl White & Naomi Hawkins. Does not mention Jane Marshall.

12.5  Minute mark  Connie – Resolution 396 which would appoint those positions from the last time and the two additional individuals Cheryl White from Neaton Auto and Naomi Hawkins.

Denise Robertson – So we are not going to add Jane?

David Wesler – Well once again Denise it has been not really wanting to grow that committee anymore. If we don't put something on it they just keep growing and growing and growing.

Denise Robertson – I think that if you get people to volunteer for things that are willing to work and she is a worker and it is Charlie's group so – I am ok with Jane being on it. I don't know how that works do we have to vote on it individually or what?

Chris Day – I don't think she needs to be on that personally. That is my thoughts on it.

Denise Robertson – Ok

David Wesler – Ahh Connie this is the same committee that several years ago that somebody had threat ??? Romeo the Eaton City Police with is that correct?

Connie – mmhh (positive)

David Wesler – And ahh Mike Simpson we called

Denise Robertson – Did Jane threaten someone?

David Wesler – No no no

Denise Robertson – Ok

David Wesler – They were threatened and so we called in Mike Simpson and he said yes it happened. Chief Romeo was threatened and we said Mike we hear you; we hear Chief Romeo and I think I called somebody else and they said yes he was threatened.  And so Bill Withrow and I said we need to remove that person from the committee – which we did.

Denise Robertson – Ok

David Wesler – Jane stood up for the individual at that time.

Denise Robertson – I told Jane I would advocate for her on this committee and I am going to. So if we want to vote for them individually we can do that but I think it is ok if she is on there. And if there is a problem then we can relieve her just like you relieved that person from the previous committee.

David Wesler – Well Chris do you want to make a motion then?

Chris Day – Ahhm I would move to ahh (very low volume – mumbling?) Naomi Hawkins and Cheryl White

Connie – That is Resolution 396.

David Wesler – Ok 396 and ahm

Denise Robertson – I'll second it so we can vote.

David Wesler – And I agree with that word, really not adding, we're putting the representation on to the manufacturing and the one other that is coming off – Naomi Hawkins would replace that other. Correct?

Connie – You mean the Engineer slot?

David Wesler – Yes it said other on this paper so. Ok Connie will you please call the roll?

Connie – Commissioner Day – Yes

Commissioner Robertson – No

Commissioner Wesler – Yes
