Economic Development Update – Port Authority

I am glad that Katie West was in the room, having listened to over six years of these meetings – I trust Katie's concerns with regard to safe guarding the county side a heck of a lot more than Shawnda Combs.  Ms. Combs is gifted in that she can talk for an extended time and by my view not really say anything, that to me is a concern not a validation of any point she is trying to make.

Let's hope that the company does come to Lewisburg. Heck – David Wesler even mentioned twice concern along the line of "as long as it is legal".  If this is involves the company that has been mentioned before as moving to Lewisburg to be closer to a company they already do business with then I do wonder if Shawnda is negotiating with herself in order to justify the existence of her job.

I think everyone hopes that some new jobs come to the county but this is the first time I can recall a county commissioner voicing concern that everything is legal and above board not once but twice.

III. MEETING – SHAWNDA COMBS & JIM SIMON – ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

1 Minute mark    Project Mary. Mentions Jeff Sewert (Village Administrator of Lewisburg) that "we have not yet been selected as the community to go into…"

Sales tax exemption and Port Authority…if facility is financed through a Port Authority the company would not have to pay sales tax on the materials. Port Authority charges "courtesy fee" (sounds like a renamed tax) to recoup sales tax lost in community and attorney fees. Shawnda Combs explains… I hope someone is independently verifying .

6.5 Minute mark    Shawnda would like the authority to negotiate on behalf of Lewisburg with the company.

Why premature ejaculation takes place? The causes behind deeprootsmag.org cialis samples the disease is probably the immediate need.
8 Minute mark   Commissioner Denise Robertson asks what happens to the   Shawnda proposes that the revenues generated from the sales tax exemptions would go to the Partnership for use on future economic development projects.

11.5 Minute mark   Renegotiate an agreement on each new agreement.

Shawnda claims she needs to be able to provide a solution to the company by 5:00 that day.  That raises some suspicion.

13.4 Minute mark   Katie West (Worthington) comes to the table with a question. Listen to the audio. I'll add that I trust Katie and I don't trust Shawnda.  Katie raises a concern on the tax issue claims and reads the code. I am glad Katie is in the room.

18.8 Minute mark   David Wesler – ..as long as it stays above board.  Well there is that concern.

19.5 Minute mark   Denise Robertson – ..in this deal where they are saving the sales tax. If they purchase that here in the county; we would be the one losing the sales tax – correct?

Shawnda – Yes….they would have sales exemption certificate…

Denise Robertson – asks about another county. Again – listen to the audio.

23.5 Minute mark   Katie raises another question…

David Wesler makes motion and mentions as long as it is legal. Sales tax incentives…
