Commission Meets with Township Trustees to Push Electric Aggregation (vote for it in your community)

This was a pretty good meeting. Either it is so cold outside that Hell has frozen over or maybe I am getting old, could be both. For whatever reason I found myself in agreement with the commission twice. Hey it has been almost eight years since I started this project – it was bound to happen. I agree with their involvement with bringing electric aggregation to the rest of the county and efforts for improving the Fairgrounds.  The commission that had started the Electric Aggregation supported it but I was not left with the feeling that it might be promoted the way this meeting appears. Good for them and the county if this passes as it is a very easy way to put more money back in your wallet by getting you the best deal on your electric bill.  Let us all hope your Township Trustees push this issue and get it passed as Rodney believes they will. Currently only Jefferson, Dixon, Monroe and Jackson are onboard by having already passed it. If you live in those areas you might be able to save some money.

I did skip listening to the JFS & Family Services monthly meeting because I just felt too burned out to listen to it with the Wednesday meeting still ahead. The audio is there for those of you who want it.

Landfill Report

Leachate was up a little in January.

Tonnage about 400 tons over last January. 356 tons of out of county waste most of which was sludge. Good news

Thinking about checking the price of a press for the sludge as the landfill could take triple the amount but does not currently get enough other tonnage to mix with it. A press would remove the liquid into the leachate line and ship it to Lakengren. Have had calls from the Springfield area.

For four weeks straight there have been visits from the EPA and another scheduled on Wednesday. First visit was the day the landfill offices had been broken into.
