Conference call to Darke County Commissioner Mike Rhoades.

Discussion on Prosecutor contracting with a village (New Paris). Wondered if it was proper and on whose time the work was being done.

John Leitz conference call on same issue.

Dave also called Auglaize County. Would put money in a special fund. Would not earmark to it.

13.75 Minute mark   Commissioner Wesler requests that Connie read email in issue.

Connie reads email into record on ORC 1901.34 . Email came from Wayne County – Wooster, Ohio. Prosecutor their contracts to handle the case in the villages of that county. Contract is signed by the County Prosecutor but approved by the county commissioners. The revenues become General Fund revenue and are not tied to anyone person or position as was mention last week by Preble County Prosecutor Marty Votel. The funds are treated like any other general fund revenue and not earmarked for the Prosecutor. They try very hard not to earmark any General Fund money for a specific purpose. Off topic Sorry, guys but the pulic hearings held in August 2009 to increase the conveyance fee were on the issue of financing economic development. The money should be earmarked and any money not spent on the Economic Development department should go to the continued bolstering of a revolving loan fund. This would serve the needs of future generations of Preble County residents.
