Preble County Development Board Heavily Weighted to the East Side of County

Shawnda Combs starts her new job as Preble County Economic Development Director on Monday and I would like to wish her the best of luck and plenty of success. I think it is a great decision to move your office out of the courthouse and away from the Chamber of Commerce located in Eaton. Don’t forget New Paris has a Chamber and Camden has a Chamber.

Readers may have noticed that I am not sold on the makeup of the new Preble Development Board and its lack of action to date. This group is heavily weighted to the east side of the county and Eaton. The facts on the ground or a simple cruise through the east side of Richmond will show that a good bit of the Preble populace shops and dines to the west. Instead of looking to build to the strength this group has a membership concentration from other areas and a number of members that choose not to even live in the county. This meeting has Commissioner Stonecash mentioning their enthusiasm but only time will tell on how it plays in areas not represented. I like the idea of the effort but anyone who thinks that means a pass on criticism of actions taken or as in the case of the landfill leachate line not taken is not grounded in reality.

File 3 has a long meeting on building regulation fees that I just have not had time to listen to. Commissioner Stonecash refers to it latter in the day as having been interesting.

File 7  New MicroFilm Director.

File 9 continues discussion and concern on the rocketing upward of county health insurance costs. The plan is being used so often by county employees that they and the county are now looking at huge increases.  An Option 5 is mentioned as a 75/25 plan and the probable best choice. This option apparently still means as much as a 56% increase to employees and an additional $214,179 cost to the county.

1hr. 10.5 minute mark    Commissioner Stonecash – last evening she was. I went to the Executive Board to discuss cell phone and they have agreed to buy her cell phone and take care of the fees associated with it. She will be getting a credit card, I think from Eaton National Bank with a credit limit of $5,000 a month. And we discussed and I just asked them two things to think about whether we needed a Memorandum of Understanding I guess between this Board and that group as to what is involved from each group, so that there is no questions latter on as to who is doing what and what their role is. You guys okay with that or do you think we need one? I am aware that the Chamber Board talked to Matt about that so.

So, if you have any heart-related problem, then it is http://amerikabulteni.com/2013/08/08/islami-ulke-sanan-avustralyali-asiri-sagci-politikaci-citayi-cok-yukseltti/ purchase generic levitra always a good idea to seek medical advice from your doctor.

Commissioner Stonecash –  While you are thinking I'll throw out a name and ahh Mitch Suggs suggested it to me would be Dr. Mark Ulrich, from West Alexandria. Which would give us a link would give us some link to the farm community. At the same time I want to think about maybe encompassing more of Preble County. Because we do have Rod Creech, Mitch Suggs and Jeff Seifert from that side of the county, so just something to consider. I know Mark would be very good, he has been involved on the county for many years and from what I understand he helped a great deal with West Alexandria. Did you think of yours yet? And we are don't to have to make this appointment yet for a couple weeks but going to the next meeting, I want a name to to present. chuckling
